Here is an example of the Siberian's obsessive problem solving
ability (i.e. they will continue to figure out the puzzle, until they do so)

"How to get up on the top of the closet bi-fold door."
By Ilia the Red
Step 1  Take exacting
calculations from every
potential angle to determine
height and triangulation of the
end point to where you want to
position yourself
Step 2  Position yourself on
an object or item that
provides a closer
perspective to the
destination, and a shorter
distance for launch
Step 3  After visualizing
yourself jumping to the
high spot a few times
(you will want to
reposition yourself a few
different ways on your
haunches first). Leap and
grab.  Then quickly
position yourself on the
target to present an air
of superiority to your
human
Siberians LOVE to
jump & climb, and
once they are old
enough, they will
be climbing on
couches, chairs,
tables, etc. So it is
best to have a cat
tree (or
two, or
three) around the
house so they can
have their own
territory to climb.
Once they are old enough, they climb and lay on even higher
objects around the house, much to the dismay of owners who
THOUGHT they Siber-dized their house well, only to find their
Sib learned how to climb on top of the curio, bookcase, or the
top of the kitchen cupboards. Be assured, they  typically don’t
relish knocking your personal possessions over the edge so
these items can drop to the floor and become a play toy (like some other kitty breeds do) –
Sibs seem to pride themselves on being able to maneuver carefully around all the tiny,
intricate items you may have delicately placed, rather, in pursuit of only one or two things –
to lay on the highest place they can manage to survey their "kingdom", or to retrieve a toy
you intended to hide,  but they knew where you put it all along!!!
Are you starting to understand why you will NOT need a TV to entertain you any longer?
Oh, but Siberians love to play and
just to BE with you wherever
THAT may be.
They can adapt to watching TV or play video games you like – they
will attempt to capture objects moving on the screen of the TV,
and especially like to play games with your son or daughter with
their X-box, or Play Station or whatever your computer game is
generated by. They like to watch the news (because of the news-
ticker along the bottom of the screen), and my cats like to watch
sports, especially football and basketball with all those ‘little
people’ running on the screen with a BALL! By far, though, I think
Animal Planet is a favorite channel.
Siberians are SO
considerate – they love to
help you with any project
you may be working on,
including, but not limited
to: the laundry; making the
bed; opening boxes [a
favorite], typing on the
computer or just laying on
the keyboard; helping you
brush your teeth; taking a
shower (they are
FASCINATED by water –
they will sit by the
bathtub, sink, etc. and
wait for the water levels
to drop and then play). I
guess it is not an
exaggeration to say that
they pretty much like to
do or be involved with
anything YOU are doing.
Hopefully you get a good idea of the
purrsonality of the Siberian, but the table at
this
link will summarize and ‘grade’ their
characteristics on a scale of 1 – 10.
Some recent observations of our kittens have brought to light a few 'new'
characteristics of Siberians.  PLEASE watch out - the Sib is an escape artist - they
can open closet doors and squeeze IN, and time their escape OUT when you open
your door, and dart out without you even noticing it.
Some Siberians are cleptomaniacs - yes, they like to collect treasures and hide
them in a 'secret' place of their choosing. This can include, but are not limited to the
following: their favorite cat toys, YOUR keychain (with keys still attached!), YOUR
tweezers, and YOUR Ipod (and, no, this has not been found yet!), YOUR orange,
YOUR banana (now with nice little pin-holes up and down the entire piece of fruit),
YOUR fresh green beans still in the grocery bag, YOUR pens/pencils, YOUR
contact case, YOUR rings, YOUR water bottle, YOUR flatware (spoons & forks
preferred), and the list goes on.
